Mom was right: sharing is best.

Once upon a time, several consumer pain points converged, creating a perfect storm for the Getable concept. A financial recession had everyone questioning spending habits. The green wave of conscious consumers who thought about the sustainable impact of their purchases was gaining momentum. Increasingly dense urban environments left space at a premium.
Renting emerged as a solution to these consumer needs. Although niche startups began popping up, there was no central marketplace. Paired with the movement to bring local service providers online, the timing for Getable couldn't have been more perfect.
Eureka!
Founding story
The Eureka! moment hit while Founder, Tim Hyer was training for a triathlon. Rather than pay $600 to ship his bike cross-country, he attempted to rent a race bike at the race destination. The process was so painful, he knew it had to be fixed. The week after the race, Tim wrote the business plan for Getable!
Tim and his team believe it’s the right moment for Getable to take off because people are realizing that life is a lot less complicated, costly and cluttered without the hassles of possession. Today’s cost-conscious, green, savvy consumer prefers experiences to objects and Getable provides the technology needed to easily gain temporary access to products from trusted sources.
